Seven new metro lines, to be completed by the end of 2009 will provide service to 2010 Shanghai WorldExpo and is unmatched project in terms of either its coverage, or the variety of lightboxes and advertising impact. For its 5988 lightboxes in total,covering both trackside and platform locations, RAYS has delivered an outstanding display effect via single-side, double-side and super lightboxes. By using its newly-developed reflective systems W280 and W224, it has cut 12 x 58 watt tubes down to 8 x 35 watt in trackside, and 12 x 36w tubes down to 8 x 28 watt in platform locations, saving energy by 60%. Assuming that each lightbox operates 18 hours a day, the lightbox system in seven metro lines as a whole will save rmb16.47 million a year in power consumption, and achieve an emission reduction of about 16,300 tonnes equivalent CO2.
