As a special contribution to 2010 Shanghai Expo, a new terminal building, the 2nd phase of Shanghai Hongqiao Airport construction project, starts operation on 16th March 2010, taking over 97% of international passengers from the old terminals as a result.
Hailed as the “aero-gateway” of Shanghai Expo, the T2 project (new terminal building) of Hongqiao Airport gained a great deal of support in using energy-saving lighting systems and making the Expo truly green. RAYS’ high definition lightboxes used in T2 project, which use newly-developed T5 high performance tubes, have delivered a wonderful display for ads. Compared with the conventional lightboxes, these “green” lightboxes, with a power consumption of only 57w per sq.m, helped save power by 50%, in other words, a save of rmb1.11 million in cost and a reduction of 914 tonnes of carbon-dioxide emission.
